Florida Frolic

Cancelled flights and stomach bug aside, we had a fantastic time on our recent trip to check out my parents' new place in Florida! I'm embarrassed to admit this is the only shot I got of the kids with their grandparents (we had good intentions, but the picture taking kind of tapered off after we got sick!)... The whole crew spent Friday night in downtown Fort Myers, enjoying some drinks, live music, and dancing (in Liam and Greta's case).

I'm not sure if this is a choke or a hug,
but there was a whole lot of loving going on!
The weather was suitably warm, and we got out for a walk at a nearby nature center to enjoy the tropical surroundings.
Then Uncle Bernie took us out on his boat to take in the water.
Liam loved to go fast, but he also got to try his hand at steering for a bit.
There was also a little fishing action of Uncle Bernie's dock (by this point in the trip, Liam had declared Bernie his "favorite person" and the rest of us were second rate!).
And, of course, what's a visit to Florida without a visit to the beach? Mom and I didn't get to see it firsthand (this was after the flu set in), but apparently Liam was into the surf this time around.
Greta was not a big fan of the waves, but instead preferred to explore the ocean from the safety of Grandpa's lap!
Thank you so much, Mom and Dad, for hosting us on this seriously fun time together! We can't wait to do it all - minus the plane fiasco and illness - again soon. Love you, Amelia
P.S. I have no idea why blogger insists on putting all these spaces into our posts lately... I take them out, but they come right back! Ugh, drives me nuts.

Looks so beautiful, warm and perfect. So sorry to hear about the flu bug and plane stuff, that totally sucks. Glad you overall had a good time though.

Looks like a great time was had by all (except for the flu bug). I love the kiddos dancing.
