Five is the age you become a "big kid" to me, so we made a big weekend out of Liam's big birthday! Friday was his day to bring a special treat to preschool, and this was the sweet of choice (decorated by the birthday boy himself).
Yesterday was Liam's party at The Little Gym. The kids were super excited upon arrival.
And had a blast with their buddies once things got going.
We wrapped up the party with (way too much) ice cream cake, some singing, and a whole lot of candles.
Then started this morning (Liam's actual birthday) with another rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" and a breakfast cupcake.
A little playing (with new loot from the day before).
Some more gift opening.
A break in the action for a story.
Lunch out, and more playing all day long.
Such fun that we think we'll keep the celebration going just a bit longer.
Happy birthday, dear Liam! We can't believe you're already five, and getting so grown-up! We love that you're a patient and sweet brother, have a huge imagination, will chat forever about your favorite topics (vehicles, volcanoes, and dinosaurs/dragons), are still wonderfully cuddly, and are just you.

Now that's the way to celebrate turning 5!!! I'm so happy to see that he had such great birthday celebrations. I can't still get over that he is five. Happy 5th Birthday, Liam, we love you!
I'm glad our special boy had a special day. Thanks for sharing the great picutes. Liam and all his cupcakes will be my new screensaver for a while. That will keep me smiling while at work. Looking forward to seeing you in Florida soon.
