Horse-ing Around

Yesterday we had the privilege of spending the morning with friends at Galloping Grace Youth Ranch, an awesome non-profit with the simple goal of bringing joy to children through horses. Based on our time at the ranch, I'd say mission accomplished :0)

Our first station was scooping poo. The kids loved it (really!).

Next it was on to get fitted for helmets for riding... The adjustments weren't quite complete at this point.
First Liam got his turn riding "Freckles".
Then Greta got a turn in the saddle (with a little help to get up there).
Finally, the whole crew (plus the two youth volunteers that led our group) got a chance to groom "Bones", a very tolerant horse indeed!
We definitely recommend Galloping Grace, and can't wait for our next visit in a couple weeks!

What a fun, special and theraputic activity. I would love it if they had a thing like that here.

The poo thing is funny. What is it with poo and children? Elyse is always on a mission to find dog or bird poo when we are outside :)

I would LOVE to go there! It sounds like a place where I would like to volunteer. Such cute pictures, too.
