Greta's 5th Birthday
And just like that, we've got a five year old in the house! Greta had been counting down until her birthday - and her birthday party - for a couple of weeks when the big day finally arrived.
Her party was at The Little Gym (same place we had Liam's fifth birthday bash, somewhat coincidentally), and involved lots of running, jumping, swinging, climbing, and general kid craziness. The theme, of course, was Frozen since Greta cannot get enough of Elsa and the gang.
We ate pizza (and fruit and veggies), then moved onto "Happy Birthday" and cupcake time... They were a lovely shade of blue on the inside :).
We sent all the guests home with even more sugar and some Anna/Elsa bling before loading up Greta's haul.
She opened everything at warp speed before heading to bed.
The next morning we settled in for some more gift opening. Liam has been begging for some "Spicy Cheetos" for months and Greta and I surprised him by wrapping up a bag... Gross, I know, but they were a BIG hit.
The neighbors came by for a bit, and here we are out for a late celebratory lunch. Notice any new sparkles? Yep, Greta got her ears pierced to mark the occasion. She's been asking for a couple years, and we told her she could do it when she turned five. She remembered, and was brave all the way until it was over, when the tears came. This was right afterwards, so at least the trauma didn't last :).
Greta declared herself too full for dessert immediately following the meal, so we let the kids pick out a special treat later in the evening.
Some playing with all the new loot and watching her new pirate fairy movie rounded out the festivities. I do believe much happiness was had by the birthday girl, and absolutely know that we love her to pieces!! Welcome to the wonderful world of five, Miss Greta!

Wow-wowie what a birthday. Ear piercing and the whole bit. Greta is growing up too fast-blue tongue and all. Guess we know one of her favorite colors!!

What a perfect way to celebrate turning 5! May have to have you hide her ears next week from elyse ;-) Happy Birthday, Greta! We love you and glad you had a great day.
