Mixed Review
Two weeks into her Zantac prescription for reflux, and we've seen mixed results for Greta.
She still has plenty of days in which she spends every moment either crying hysterically (I'll spare you the image) or sleeping (usually requiring burrito form).
The "bad" days are beyond bad, as I really don't think there's a quicker path to insanity than the continuous sound of a screaming baby that nothing - aside from sleep - seems to soothe. On these days, Greta fights eating, writhes/twists/cries out in pain even when sleeping, and needs near-constant soothing and holding (hence the lack of photos since she's almost always in our arms or in her wrap!).
Lucky for all of us, Greta has also had some days in which she is a happy, relaxed baby - "talking" to various objects (including, bizarrely, her crib bumper!)...
sitting contentedly - even sleeping - in her carseat (this is a definite change since starting the meds!)...
The "good" days are beyond good; Greta is so fun to interact with and just look at when she's content :0) I feel like we're finally getting a taste of the sweet, cuddly newborn stage that we've always heard rumors about, and we want more of it! And most importantly, we want to put a stop to whatever is hurting our baby girl. So we'll keep trying stuff - adjusting meds and/or dosages, checking my diet, etc. - until we get there.

We're so glad to hear that she's having great days! Hopefully the bad ones will soon be few to none. She's such a cutie!
Glad you are having good days which you can enjoy your precious peanut. I just LOVE the first picture of Liam and Greta. She's sleeping so peacefully and Liam looks like such a proud brother.
Just FYI they put preston on something called hyposcyamine to help relax the colon which seems to help we are having those bad days. I dont know if your doctor will try this but I know on those evenings when he is a bear we give him 3 drops of this stuff and in 45 minutes he is a happy baby. just a thought. She is a cute baby and hopefully she will start giving you lots of good days in the very near future.
Glad to hear she has some great days too! Don't let the bad ones get to you - remember to take some breaks for yourself! :o)
Awww, just breaks my heart to hear that she's having such a rough time (and in turn, everyone else having a rough time). Hang in there and if you need a spare arm to hold the crying, screaming, little gal, just buzz me.
And amazingly cute pics - she sooo looks like baby Liam :)

Oh, I was so confident that you had an answer to your problems with the acid reflux diagnosis. I sure hope things will improve quickly now so you can all enjoy family life, before Shawn has to go back to work!
