Dinosaur Train Trip
We got home Sunday from a few fun days in one of our favorite spots in the southwest - Durango, Colorado. We love this pretty mountain town and had a blast swimming,
and taking in the weekend's big event - riding the "Dinosaur Train"!(For anyone not in the know on this one, it's a show on PBS that many kiddos - ours included - are obsessed with.)
The ride was pretty cool since we followed the river (plenty of rafts and kayaks to watch) and were pulled by an actual steam engine.
Once at the site, there were a whole bunch of activities for the wee ones, including jumpers, tattoos, ballons, characters, and digging for dinosaur bones. Here we are looking for cool rocks and shark teeth. To say the kids were excited about meeting Buddy would be an understatement...
They were thrilled!!
Luckily, we had plenty of mellow time back at the campground to balance all that action.
Of course S'mores were involved.
And I want to bring that porch swing home with us (if only we had a porch...).
All in all, an awesome trip for the little and big people. (And this time, we actually got to sleep after the first night!!). -Amelia
