Walking In The Woods
We've been trying to spend plenty of time enjoying the nearby forests and wilderness areas before the inevitable closures due to fire danger are announced.
Today's outing was a little hike and picnic in our beloved Jemez Mountains.
Now that Greta travels on foot, our hikes are frequently interrupted by stops to pick flowers, climb on things, or throw rocks into the water.
All the breaks are a good thing, because when the kids decide they want to run on the trail they pretty much leave me in the dust.
Time to cool off those hot (and stinky!) feet.
Finally, a little fishing before we headed back home; you can see the damage from last year's Las Conchas fire on the ridge behind.
Here's hoping for rain and more fun weekend wanderings! -Amelia
