Giving Thanks

This Thanksgiving we have a whole lot to be thankful for, just a bit of which includes:

  • time off from work and school to spend together,
  • in-laws who are willing and able to travel to see us,
  • and close proximity to a warm, sunny place.
These three great things added up to one fantastic, relaxing holiday weekend in the Phoenix area! So what exactly did we do in Arizona?

Plenty of this.
 A lot of this.
 Some of this.
More of this (I told you it was relaxing!).
And a whole bunch of this.
The home we rented had an awesome backyard complete with pool, hot tub, bar, patio, and firepit. We literally swam/soaked until we were prunes everyday!
We walked to the park, watched movies, and went on a couple of little outings, including Friday's trip to the train park in Scottsdale (where the photo theme was Greta pouting and Liam injecting himself into every picture!).
On Saturday - after some pool time and brunch out - we paid a visit to the Phoenix zoo.
We didn't cover a lot of ground, but the kids did talk Grandma and Grandpa into a paddleboat ride.
Yesterday morning we had to say goodbye, leave summer behind, and head for home. Not easy to do after so much fun!!
Thank you, Mike and Kathy, for making the trip down and spending Thanksgiving with us. We love you, and are missing you (and the great backyard!) already. -Amelia
